When to use this
Base phase for multi-event athletes, when practice runs half the day and one lunch is carrying too much of it.
- A decathlete or heptathlete fades in the second half of long training blocks.
- Practice stretches past four hours and nobody has planned mid-session food.
- High-volume weeks are stacking fatigue, mood dips, or nagging injuries that look like an intake problem.
