Off-Season Fuel Should Match Strength Work and Recovery, Not Race-Day Nerves
- Meals stay consistent even when racing is off the calendar.
- The shift is more emphasis on recovery, lifting, and full-day structure.

Aspire Daily Fueling
Use the off-season to rebuild routines, support strength work, and follow up on health concerns without turning bodies into a project.
The off-season is a nutrition opportunity. Athletes can build stronger habits, support lifting, and stop chasing race-week eating all year.
Keep the meal rhythm, support the work, and leave body targets and clinical decisions outside the coach's lane.
Do this:
Try this week: Pick one habit, like breakfast every day, and keep it for eight weeks before changing anything else.
Not true: no races means less food. Growing, lifting, and healing all need fuel.
Start with the food category. Tap a package for one recognizable brand example, then swap within the category for access, tolerance, culture, budget, and allergens.

Strength training breaks down muscle so it can rebuild stronger; that rebuild needs protein spread across the day and enough carbohydrate to fuel the sessions and refill glycogen.
Growth does not pause with the race calendar. Bone and recovery keep drawing energy all winter, so a runner who under-eats for three months starts next season behind.
A quiet calendar gives a physician time to look at a season of fatigue or repeat injury; the clinician decides what, if anything, is worth testing.
When to use this
The week the season ends, when structure usually disappears along with the race calendar.

Where to go next
From one handout to a repeatable team system
Coach: Open the matching week, deliver the team talk, assign the staff owner, and verify the written action.
Family: Send the editable family message, share the handout, and keep the same next action visible in the family portal.
