Invitational week: pack the day before the day packs you
Dear [Team Name] Families, Invitationals and away meets change the day enough that the normal routine can break down fast. Early bus rides, unfamiliar schedules, and long venue time are where athletes get underfueled even when they meant to do everything right. The simplest travel-meet rule is this: pack the plan before the day starts. - eat before the bus if the timing allows - pack easy carbs and one more snack than you think you need - bring a full bottle and refill plan - pack recovery food so the athlete is not waiting for hours after racing The point is not to pack a perfect cooler. The point is to avoid a day where the only options are concession food, random gas-station choices, or waiting too long because the athlete did not think the race window would shift. Families help by putting the first snack where the athlete can reach it and by not assuming the meet food setup will solve the day. If the race is later than expected, the athlete still needs easy carbs and a calm plan instead of frustration and skipped opportunities to eat. This week, we are pairing the email with the travel and packing tools so families can build a meet bag that actually supports the day.
