Travel invitational this week? Pack like it is a long day, not a short race
Dear [Team Name] Families, Travel invitationals and overnight meets usually expose the same problem: athletes bring enough food for one short effort and then spend the rest of the weekend improvising. The travel-meet rule is simple: - pack trusted snacks before leaving - know what the hotel breakfast or stop plan is - treat the venue like a long day, not one event - pack recovery support before the trip starts The more moving parts a meet has, the more valuable familiar foods become. Travel is not the time to test random products or assume the venue will provide the right timing for the athlete’s event. Families help most by packing the plan the night before and making the first snack, the breakfast backup, and the recovery food easy to find. If the athlete gets quieter or less hungry when meets get bigger, that is specifically why the plan should be simpler and more familiar instead of more ambitious. This week, we are pairing the email with the travel builder so the whole weekend can be planned before it starts.
